G-Force Performance chip...worth it?
I found this online the other day, its a GF performance chip...says it adds 60 HP, 4-7 MPG and 30 lb-ft torque. Obviously at a glance this thing looks amazing to the average customer...but is it worth it? I mean, are there any negatives to adding something like this? Most importantly, would it do what it says it does? has a money back guarantee and a lifetime warranty.

care to explain why? I mean, false advertisement is fully illegal...so there has to be SOME truth to these things...right?

Look at all the words like "up to", "possible", "as much as".....which are all ways of saying that "YOU won't get these gains, but buy it anyway" .....and notice they also say it'll work with stock or modified engines. Fair bet the bigger numbers weren't achieved on stock engines. ....and then there's the tricky, in house evaluation procedures. I think the greatest claim ever was that the TPIS miniram made 90 more HP than a stock TPI!!!!! ...BUT....what they didn't go into detail about was that it was well beyond the stock TPIs operating range that there was a 90 HP difference, AND that the stock TPI made more torque at LOWER RPMs. I think at the stock TPIs peak, the miniram was only about 15 or 20 HP higher. Honestly I don't remember the exact numbers, but, It's all how you spin the facts.
.....and then, just use good ole common sense. No change in the motor itself whatsoever. JUST tuning. This isn't exactly a new idea, and no one else is getting anywhere close to HALF as much performance!!! ...and no matter how good their supposed tune is, it's still only as good as the computer itself. People are now swapping on LSx computers, as well as many other longtime engine management players in the industry and THEY aren't getting close to those numbers either. I mean come on. Think it through.

Alrighty, fair enough. Its kind of amazing then, that if these things truly are worthless and don't actually do anything, the companies that make these things aren't getting hit by the government with False advertising and fraud charges.
i mean, these things ARE an upgraded version of whats already in the computer in these cars, right? if these things really are a scam, then logically speaking...if you swapped this chip with the factory one, it would mess everything up and wouldn't run properly.
today's laws and regulations don't really leave room for a fake product (legally circulated). plain and simple, if it doesn't do what you say it does...you can't sell it.
im not calling anyone a liar here or anything, but have any of you guys ever used a performance chip? I just want an un-biased opinion.

My car came with one. It litterly is a box with nothing inside... Like foreal. My friend seen it an tossed it before even reading what it said on it. no differenance in performance. if u open them up there is nothing inside pretty much. I think i read u can use a paper clip an will do the same thing they do (run the car richer)
Also relize if it's over-seas it is not the same policys as here

If you REALLY believe it, you're more than welcome to buy it and see for yourself. Either report back to us that it works, or take them to court for false advertising.
Good luck.
Good luck.
