weird idle
hi, my car has always had the same problem with the idle since i bought it, it did the same thing with the 305 it originally had and now it does it with the 350 that i put in. when i swapped it i replaced the 305 chip with the 350 one and i swapped out the 305 injectors and put stock size 350 injectors on. now the car will idle like this forever and it never dies, it always seems like its gonna but it never does. please have a listen and tell me what you think. thank you so much.
so it can't be the engine then can it? its gotta be something in the TPI system right? cuz the same intake and everything from the 305 is now on the 350?

Re: weird idle
Surging idle is generally a lean condition. Less often it can be caused by a faulty IAC. KMdoza7 suggested looking for vacuum leaks. Also, if you've never done it, clean the MAF sensor using CRC brand MAF Sensor cleaner. You'll need to remove the sensor from the car to do this. Do not spray anything into the MAF sensor while it's connected.
Reading codes is good though things can be off quite a bit before a code will set. Using a scan tool to view data for signs of anything being off, like coolant temp TPS voltage, MAF voltage, is a good way to find problems. You need to educate yourself on what normal values are.

I would check for vacuum leaks also. When the engine hunts for idle, that's usually a sign of a vacuum leak. Check all vacuum lines and hoses for cracks, deterioration and lines not sealing properly.
