rpm problems 4k+

Alright it wasn't til a little while ago that I started having a problem where if I was driving and would take off and shoot up the rpm's that as I come to 4 or 4500 rpm it starts to studder and won't go any higher. I have a new tps in it didnt fix it however made the throttle snappier, I unplugged the msd module and coil and connected the stock one to see if it was the problem nope. I haven't replaced the distr cap in the 3 years I have had it and who knows before that so that will be the next thing. Would a bad distr really do this tho and if it doesn't fix it where to next? I am pretty positive its ignition as you can here it miss sometimes

Re: rpm problems 4k+

It has been a little while since I have been on here and have gone through just about everything! I have a new distr cap, a new tps sensor which I got tuned in but I had to basically put it as high as it would go, a new maf I got a while ago which is when this problem first started, a new fuel filter, new plugs and wires in there, new exhaust, and its still doing it! I am going to take in the maf and get it replaced again to see if its defective, and other then the fuel pump I am stumped. Maybe injectors? Either way it idles great just when I hit high rpm it takes a s*** on my dreams.

Re: rpm problems 4k+

It's losing fuel or spark above that RPM range. Probably fuel. Check your BLM cell above that RPM.

Re: rpm problems 4k+

Thats what I was going to do next if the maf isnt the problem was get a fuel gauge next and if thats fine then I will go to valve springs I guess. I havent chencked the factory ignition module but the msd I unplugged the box and coil and put the stock coil back on and no good. What do you mean BLM cell? And the rpm that it does this at is not very consistant at all, could do it at 4 or 5 or anywhere in between

Re: rpm problems 4k+

Ok herein update. I put the new maf on its another wells su 145 which many people have not had a problem with on here. Its still happening. I checked the fuel pressure and well its all good. So I may try a new coil see what happens. But it did it with the old stock coil when I put it on. So I was wondering could an inj do this or would it have to be all of them? I also have a new klnock but it sounds like a rocker knock which makes me think a spring is bad, but the problem with that is I can rev the engine to 5500+ easy with no load. So the next thing I will do is take the valve covers off and see whats going on with the rocker and spring. I have a chip that I put in as well around this time this all happened so I may take that out and put the stock one in to see if its a bad chip sending the inj the wrong code.
