which cam?

Yes I know there are several posts on this topic and I have read a lot of them and have narrowed it down to two cams but can't decided which would be best for my setup as I've read some conflicting things on both so I thought I would see what you guys thought.

The setup I'm going to be running:
stock l98 bottom end (for now)
HSR (vortec version)
Headman shorty headers and Y (1 3/4" primary's)
full custom cat-back
2500-2800 stall
build trans with shift (can't remember the brand off the top of my head)
stock vortec heads with screw in studs and alex's parts springs
will be controlled by a vortec style computer
stock gears for now

cam choices:
CS 276H-R14
220/230 @ .050"
.510 lift on both
114 lsa

or

XR276HR-12
224/230 @ .050"
.503/.510 lift
112 lsa

I do some day plan on rebuilding the bottom end (355) and going to either a 3:42 or 3:373 gear and upgrading to some better headers (possibly long tubes), and also maybe a bigger stall.

My goal for the car is to have fun street that I can take to the track once in a while and run a decent time in and not have to worry about getting beat by some punk kid in a Honda.

What do you guys think?

XR276HR-12

...little extra help on the exhaust, and a 112 centerline.

I agree, that's the one I would go with also. I had that exact cam in my car and it ran really good on the street, and low 12's at the drag strip.
