I bought an 1988 305 throttle body Camaro (manual), the guy i bought if off did an engine swap and the engine that's in it now is an 1986 305 tune port. Everything including the dash, wiring harness and computer minus the auto trani was switched out of the 86 and put in the 88. The only thing the previous owner did to the engine before dropping it in the 1988 was put a solid gear drive in it. He never got the car to fire, if you would spray starting fluid in it, it would start and shut off. When i got the car i pulled the tank, the hose from the pump to the metal line in the tank was rotted. i put a brand new fuel pump for and 86 305 tpi, the car starts, but now is dumping raw fuel. I replaced fuel injectors 19 lbs, fuel reg, fuel filter, throttle pos sensor, mass air flow sensor, cool temp sensor also replaced fuel pump again to see if i had a bad pump. It is still dumping fuel, and if i hold it at a steady idle it loads up, but if i give it full throttle it runs fine. When standing by the car it will burn your eyes and you can see raw black smoke. The scanner says running rich, send o2 sensor through the roof. i replaced it twice as well as tune up and oil and i am still getting the same reading (running rich) on the scanner. I need help before i end up putting a carb on it.

Note: it does have a hyper chip in the computer the guy says the motor ran fine before the swop.

 

what's your timing at?

 

put a timing light on it put it right on do it by ear dosnt change any thing with it dumping fuel
