FPR relocation crazy idea?

Just wondering if anybody has tried to use 2 stock left side fuel rails and then a aftermarket FPR mounted somewhere other than under the intake plenum. Trying to get to that thing under there is a pita!

Re: FPR relocation crazy idea?

the fuel rails are not notched the same for runner clearance. You can notch them or block the feed leave the front crossover and use a remote mount regulator on the return side.
the stock regulator can be modified for remote application .

Re: FPR relocation crazy idea?

Well that's kinda what I was thinkin, but a lot more plumbing than I had in mind. (I forgot about the fuel line attached to the rails moving to the rear when the right rail is swapped to the left... LOL

I think I'd rather tap the ends of the rails for inlet and return and keep the stock cross over tubes. (2 front ones).
Would that work? Is there enough material/room to tap the ends of the rails?

Re: FPR relocation crazy idea?

You can use two of the long front crossovers and tap the rail for a return and have the fpr on the return side.
IIrc I removed the plug and taped 1/2 npt

Re: FPR relocation crazy idea?

You can even leave the fpr inplace and gut the regulator diaphragm and make a block off plate. Tap the return in the for to 1/4 npt and mount a remote fpr. Several ways to do the same thing.

Re: FPR relocation crazy idea?

I guess my main concern was if I could use 2 long crossover tubes and if the rails would physically interchange. (I can do the clearancing).

I'm not sure if I'll actually do it but it sure is a pain to adjust the fuel pressure under the plenum... LOL
I have another complete tpi intake, but kind of hesitant to part it out to do this.
