Oil Pressure Sending Unit Install
So, I purchased a new oil pressure sending unit and snapped off the metal electrical connector with the hole in it while installing it. There's just no room to work back there to install it properly without bending that metal piece. I'm going to buy a new one, but was wondering if there is a trick to installing this back there? I bought a ratcheting wrench set which should help save time and back pain, but that won't help the metal connector always breaking.. Hmmm.. Thoughts?
Thanks

Re: Oil Pressure Sending Unit Install
There is a black cover over the sender that pops off. Try to reach the nut with a deep socket. I bought the oil sender unit socket kit. The first time I removed my old one with the black cover on, so I figured, it would go on the same. Well, the socket wouldn't set completely on the sender and I kept twisting the socket off. Then I told a friend it's just not working, he grabs the old unit and pops the black cover off and goes, "Hmm, the socket is definitely long enough". Lol. I cried inside and went back to the new unit, popped the cover off, put the sender socket on and it was super easy from there.

Re: Oil Pressure Sending Unit Install
I'm not sure I'm following. The unit I purchased does not have a black cover on it (or any cover?) It looks as such (see attached image).
The metal connector with the small hole in it at the tip is what brakes off from the whole unit when I try to install it because the only way to line up the whole unit to thread it into the back of the engine is to bend this metal connector slightly and then when it's threaded it I bend it back into place, but it broke on me. So I'm stumped at how to thread this in to the engine unless that metal connector somehow comes apart or something? Not sure..

Mine was facing sort of towards the back of the car, towards the firewall, but off to the driver's side. So there's that part of the firewall sticking out and in the way lol. That piece back there is move-able but it doesn't go as far as facing the driver's side fender.
