my 1990 5.7L wont accelerate at wot

So my 1990 5.7L iroc wont accelerate at wide open throttle the rpm's wont go past 3000 and im pretty sure its not my tranny....things I just replaced within the last month, new distributor, iac, tps, ignition coil, coolant temperature sensor, intake manifold and gaskets, injectors, egr, and still doesn't advance when it try ti accelerate fast.... any suggestions will help thanks

Its your plugs and wires. i had the same issue back in the day, but 3rd gear (only) at wot.

So I bought some ac delco rapidfires and set of 8.5mm msd wires, but waiting on the wire set i should have them by friday and like I said thanks once again and hopefully this fixes my problem too

How old is your cat? If its effed up bad enough it can choke your motor like that.

Its only a year old but that realy doesnt mean anything because about 3 months ago my cat was bright red could also be that, if the new wires and spark plugs don't solve this issue I will cut it out and see what happens

The minute I read the title I knew it was the Cat. I have the same issue right now. I heard a rattling sound coming from the cat, and my car falls flat on its face at WOT. I am replacing mine this week and fully expect it to solve the issue.

Did it solve yours?

So it wasnt my cat...still kept doing it with it removed...had my fuel pump replaced and solved my issue. ..

Well... glad to hear your issue is resolved anyways... I replaced my cat with a test pipe and my problem is solved! runs great again!
