strange running issue

Hi guys

I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on my issue

I have just got my 85 TA 305 TPI on the road and it seems that it idle lovely in park however once you hold the revs (not in gear) it starts running on 7 Cyl

If you drive it at WOT or even half throttle it runs lovely, but when cruising (especially at low revs) it seems to missfire a lot

The car has had new plugs, leads, Dizzy Cap, Rotor and fuel filter.

Any help would be great.

Re: strange running issue

Could be a lot of things at this point. Any codes? Start looking for bad wire connections, vacuum lines, fuel pressure, timing etc.

Re: strange running issue

No codes at the moment. Getting timing checked and fuel pressure checked this weekend. Do you think it could be a block injector??

Possible yes. I wouldn't put it at the top of the list if it's idling smooth. Ohm check the injectors. The ethanol could have worn the coils down over time. And if those are Multec injectors they have a bad reputation of being problematic.

That's the understatement on the Multecs! They are extremely problematic and prone to coil failure.

Re: strange running issue

Most likely the ignition has been replaced and it is still misfiring

Re: strange running issue

When you say "ignition" do you mean the coil pack on the top of dizzy
