Who's made power on stock chip?

Hey guys,

355's goin off to the machine shop, things are rolling now. I'm wondering who's ran a pretty wild TPI setup on a stock chip? I dont want to lean out, or run to advance and ruin this freshly built engine, but I can't customize the prom yet for a few weeks/months. Here's the more important parts of the set up.

Iron Eagle 180cc's ported/polished
9.7:1 compression
212 218 @ .05 520 lift 112 lsa
Stock 22lb/hr injectors
semi-siamesed ported intake/ fully siamesed SLP runners
stock 305 (48mm?) TB
ported plenum (laff)
3.73's (less engine load?)
shift kit, dual exhaust

So who's experienced a similar set up on a stock chip? anybody pulled data and found any lean/knock conditions?
thanks!

Just curious, but how many engines are you building?

/The engine is currently being built, its a 355 with comp cam custom grind 116 222 .510 lift 112 lsa. Ported/siamesed plenum and SLP runners down to a semi-siamesed edelbrock base about 2" into it. 52mm TB. And dart PRO 1 aluminum 200cc heads at 9.7:1 compression. and probably these SVO 24lb/hr injectors/

Most likely the stock chip will have a very passive timing curve, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Get a cheapo "plugin" ALDL O2 monitor and keep an eye on the O2 mv's.

I've got what you're looking to build (almost-see sig, only change is I now have 3.73 gears). It went a best of 13.0 with the stock chip and the 3.23 gears, but ran really rich. Drove the car for 1 1/2 years that way, but now I'm burning chips for it. If you have the time/funds, try getting into burning your own chips. It'll make a world of difference.

ie: My car's best highway gas mileage before burning, appx 16mpg with 3.73s. Just made a trip yesterday and got 21mpg without the TCC locking up. That's what I got when the car was stock/brand new with 2.77 gears.

What do you think about the heads?

Ever run them on just a 355 instead of a 383?

Seems you're ET's should be MUCH lower now, like 12s/11s?!?!

Thanks!

Yeah, I think it should be quicker also, that's why I got into burning chips. My corrected ETs are in the 12.6 - 12.8 range, but that's not on a slip, so it doesn't count for me. I've been fighting gremlins since the install (blown up tranny several times and ESC trouble codes coming while running at the track- seems I get one thing fixed and something else jumps up.)

I think my main problem is the cam selection, it is really to small for a 383 and the heads I have(I'm going to correct that next year).

Just as a comparison, what do stock LS1s run where you're at? They run 13.6s to 14.0s here. I've got video of me killing slightly modded LS1s by 5 - 9 car lengths at the track.

Love the heads, quality casting only problem is they're set up for both perimeter and center bolt VCs. The bosses for the perimeter VCs intefere with the Centerbolt VCs mounting edge, so I had to do some grinding/clearancing.
