need help identifying vacuum line

This is on a MAF setup 350 TPI. I cannot find where this vacuum line goes. It is a new to me motor so i have nothing to compare to. Can someone point me in the right direction here? I thought the EVAP canister but that line goes on the side of the throttlebody.. I am referring to the small black plastic line with rubber end below the passenger side plenum opening (left of picture).

thanks.

Re: need help identifying vacuum line

Looks like something that would either go to the fuel pressure regulator or the EGR valve to me. Does your FPR have a line coming off it already?

Re: need help identifying vacuum line

That's the one that plugs into the small connection under the TB looking at your pics, if so the other end goes to the egr solenoid, it doesn't look like you have the correct hose on there, this one is shorter than the other one that goes on the egr solenoid. The long one goes to the TB nipple and the short one (this one) to the egr valve

It is hard to see in the pic but i know exactly what you are referring to, and unfortunately this one is not for the TB nipple either, unless there are two TB nipples, but i do not see two on the TB. The one for the TB nipple on the drivers side corner of the TB is just out of sight in the pic and is molded to point straight up. This is the line that comes up from (if i remember correctly) the EGR solenoid and then "T's" into two and goes to the TB nipple and then this. I think the "T" is barely visible on the right in the pic. There is another one also connected to the EGR valve itself.

I don't even see it on the 90 TPI diagram in the above link so i am thinking it is likely original and not from another year.......

Is there two nipples on the TB? I can only find one, and if there is only one than this line does not go on the TB. It is molded plastic and pointing to the side instead of up like the one that does go on the nipple. As mentioned, a little ways back this line T's and one goes to that TB nipple and this one.....i have no idea. The proper one is already attached to the EGR.

I will see if I can shoot a pic or 2. Do you still have the emissions diagram sticker under the hood? It shows the routing of the vac lines. Google might turn up a copy also

It's the long one laying on the base. This one is missing a short section for the tb. That's the long line. The short one goes to the egr

No, this is an engine swap so unfortunately i'm flying blind.

I just went out and looked......there is a fitting that goes on the EGR solenoid with two molded plastic lines coming off it, a short and a long one as you say. the short one i have connected to the EGR valve and the long one then T's into two up by the throttle body. ONe end points up and is on the drivers side, which i connected to the TB nipple, and then this mystery line that points sideways towards the passenger fender.

It has the same size rubber end on it like the one that goes on the TB nipple but i see nothing to attach it to anywhere up there?

Yes, pontiac. The line that comes from (or goes to) the evap canister goes to the side of the throttlebody on a bigger port.

Re: need help identifying vacuum line

No, that's the purge line. The small one is for the control valve.

Oh, ok, i see, i never saw that extra line on the TPI vacuum diagram i previously found. I will have to check when i get home tonight if i have a spare port on the vaalve not connected. Trouble is i have no clue what year the canister is from that was given with the engine and there appear to be changes through the years from what i have seen at shows. I wil see what i find......thanks!

Re: need help identifying vacuum line

Well, i finally remembered to look a while back and there is not extra port on the valve by the canister or on the canister. The tank control valve has an extra little port on it but a short vacuum line comes off it and "Y's" right back into the line going to the canister, like illustrated on the TPI diagram in the link above.
