Update on porting the plenum

Hey everyone.... I was asking about the EGR wall removal in the plenum a little while back. I finally got to it tonight, and it is much simpler than I though. Thanx for the pics everyone. Will I see about a tenth gain in the 1/4?

Car should be back together soon... got th einjectors back last week, have the plenum ported and externally polished, just have to clean up the intake and finish polishing th eback of the runners. Can't wait to hear my baby run again... I may just take it out for a spin too Just to see If I can feel a difference.

Oh... A note fro anyone changing the FPR to a AFPR... you need that damn special torx screwdriver with the middle drilled out to go over the freaking tit in the middle.. grrrrrr... that set me back a little bit tonight.

Yeah man i hear you on that.... i think they callled it a locking torx bit. I bought some headers from a guy that works at Jeff Wyler Chevy about a week ago.. and he switched mine for free so i didnt have to buy that $30 tool.

Just so you know, that's the reason to buy a tpis AFPR, it comes with the special torx bit you need. At least the three I've gotten from them did.

congrats on the plenum and everything, get some pics up soon,

i just wanted to let you guys know that it is much cheaper to make your own AFPR, and the tool needed to remove it is only 5 bucks, the fasteners are called torx tamper proof screws, and any auto parts store sells it, i got mine from advance auto parts, and if u dont want to spend the $5 u can take a center punch and knock down the **** in the center. if anyone has any questions on how to make there own AFPR e-mail me for more details and a parts list, i think it ended up costing me like $7 for everything including the torx bit.

get a pin punch or a small screwdriver and just tap the center pin down gently with a hammer. you can then use a regular torx on it (it wont seat all the way but it will get in enought to turn it) . then go spend $1.00 on some new screws at the local hardware store or home depo. worst comes to worst , look at a model store they have tons of odd small fasteners.
