I'm stuck - 88 305 tpi

I'm completely lost currently - my car won't start - it was running a few days ago with a random misfire here & there that got progressively worse to the point of not being able to move before the engine dies.

I've already replaced MAF, intake gaskets, thermostat (because intake was apart) O2 sensor, fuel filter, fuel pump. All injectors are within the right resistance, cleaned up build-up of crud in cap & rotor, ignition coil is functional, can't get at all spark plugs but the ones I can see are fine - not burnt or bent.

I don't have a fuel pressure gauge so I can't check that, no gas shoots from the pressure regulator but feint smell of gas in it

Any ideas on what to test/ check?

Replace your ignition control module in your distributor.

When you turn the key to the on position do you hear the fuel pump run at all?

Yea fuel pump primes and works when trying to start the car,

Also code 42 did pop up once but hasn't again yet but I assume it's just from the misfiring

code 42 means a possible EST issue . you can test the ESC module , located behind the 3 relays behind the brake booster

More specifically EST sensor ( missing pulses or something like that ) which to my understanding is in the distributor with the ignition control module - just picked up a new one and will be replacing it tonight or tomorrow
