I'm getting ready to rebuild my 305 tpi, I've found kicks for 400-500 dollars to rebuild, don't know how much the labor is gonna be yet. I'm gonna go with the powerhouse stroker kit, it's the one that was used on the silver streak in super chevy magazine, it's $600. BTW you can't bore a 305 to 350, it's the same block but I believe the cylinders are closer together on a 305 and you can't bore them as much. Hope this helps.

If you pay some one to pull the motor hear and put in a creat motor it is 500 in labor plus the engine. If you have yours rebuilt to stock no performance work done it would coast 100 to have the block done this is not boring to a larger size this is just clean and hone add 50 to 100 more for an over bore then 50-100 to have the cranke turned. 100-200 if you have it balanced 200 to have the heads reserficed and a three angle valve jog done 200 to 300 for engine rebuild kit with out pistons this is with all seals rings barings oil pump or 300 + if you need pistones depending on type plus at least 200 to have the mashine shop bolt it all together and mabe even 100 to diasembel it all. prices for your area may be more or less but this is the going rate hear. Plus you will probly have give or take 200 mabe 300 in other parts like water pump plug wires ditribitor cap plugs belts al that small stuff that most dont think aboat when planning their rebuild.

You should be able to get it done for less than $2500. My 350 was done for about $2300, which included a new oil cooler (> $200 !) that I hadn't planned on. The job did include the extras (ign. components, belts, etc.) mentioned above. Check this link (scroll to bottom) for more detail on what was done during the rebuild.
