Porting Stock Runners?

I've got a lot of info, thanks to some fellow members, on how to port my plenum. I've also seen on the board mention of people porting the stock runners...How is this done? If anyone has done this and has some comments or advice they would like to share I would be very thankful

Other then siamesing the ends I don't know how much you could actually port them. I have heard that polishing the insides helps airflow. The real restriction is the intake manifold there is a big difference when you see a stock manifold next to one that has been ported.

There really isnt a lot you can do to port stock runners. About the only thing is grinding down the casting ledge just inside them, but be careful you dont go thru. Siamesing them would take a lot of specialized work, and if you dont do it yourself, will probably cost a lot more than buying aftermarket runners.

There's some guys who are siamesing into the runner flange, this does two things (in theory)...increases plenum volume On the plenum side) and shortens runner length. Does it help? Not sure, haven't seen any before/after info...but it should add a little to the topend, IMO, by shortening the runner length.

Other than that, as mentioned before, there's really no meat you can take out of the runners themselves. polishing them internally should be about all you can do. Again, I think the gain will be very, very small, if measurable at all.

That's what I figured Mike. Just thought I would ask since I'm gonna have them off anyway, I wanna do all that I can since I don't plan on taking off again anytime soon.
