Basically as the title says it won't run with the MAF plugged in. Im just on the tail end of replacing the motor and it just doesn't want to run.

I'm pretty sure that the MAF isn't bad, I have 2 and tried with both,

I'm positive that everything is plugged in except for the temp sensor between cylinder 1&3 because the different connection used between 88 & 89 ,

it's currently sitting with just the Y-pipe open because I need a bit welded in

I have pulled out all the smog pump stuff and a/c plumbing and installed a set of headman headers
And timing has been set dead on 6° before tdc
my car is an 88 Iroc-z 305 TPI

 

All the part numbers for MAF relays pull up ac relay if there's a way to test the relays before looking for new ones I wanna do that

 

Check really hard for a vacuum leak

 

If you can measure a MAF analog output voltage with the unit connected and running it may shed some light on the root cause.
