Fuel Pulsator Need?

I'm installing the Walbro 355lph internal pump to replace the 255lph that burnt up after 15 years. I left the pulsator in place before, but I was thinking of eliminating it in favor of using a tube of fuel line. Are there any problems anyone has experienced by doing this?

Re: Fuel Pulsator Need?

You' might getting some injector noise/clicking. Bosch 3 injectors seem to do this with or without a pulsator on batch fire systems

Re: Fuel Pulsator Need?

the procharger drowns out all slight noise issues I'm running 42lb injectors from Ford Motorsport. Not sure who the manufacturer is with those.

Yeah, I had taken mine off when I put in my new EFI conversion tank, but then put it back on after I found this out to be true.

OK, but if I went with an aftermarket sump tank and fuel pump, there would be no pulsator, so besides noise that causes no detrimental value, should I be worried about anything?

Thanks again

No it's just a noise concern. If you're not worried about noise, then a tube will work fine. The straight tube worked fine on my setup... again, just the pulsation noise that bugged me.

Re: Fuel Pulsator Need?

I put a Bosch pump on my 88 a couple weeks ago, eliminated that pulsator and used the thick hose connector in its place. The Bosch pump is a turbine type pump rather than the gearotor standard pump and has a smoother flow. Your new performance pump might be the same basic construction?
