I bought a set of replacement re-conditioned injectors for my 89 Iroc. Problem is they are not as long as the factory installed. When I re mount the fuel rail the injectors do not fully seat in the manifold. I was told by the counter man that it shouldn’t be an issue as long as it is in part way it’s still sealed by the o ring....really??? Your thought please!!
I think it'd PROBABLY be ok, but I wouldn't take the chance. -and if the parts guy tells you it'll be fine, then you KNOW it won't be.
I'd return 'em and check out Southbay. They're a sponsor and they have injectors corrected for proper length. LOTS of us here running them successfully including me.
Look like LT1 injectors. And yeah, there are a bunch of injectors out there that are 1/8" shorter. It's not a big deal, just don't use the locking clips, and don't push them as deep into the rail when you install them, and they're supposed to work. The alternative is to buy injectors that are actually intended for the application.
Go on Rock Auto and see if the replacement injectors you have are listed as a replacement for your car, and go from there.

They list a first and second design. I believe the second design is the smaller. Not sure why. Not willing to take a chance. The retainer clips are discontinued also... grrrr
