Re: best distributor
The other choice is a msd, there icm s are pretty cheap so if failure occurs use a 369 gm icm.

Re: best distributor
OK.
Lots of good ideas...so the stock style I need to use (due to my wiring harness being a MAF system) is the 305. It'll be a brand new one, since the older one had 89K on it. Also following the Comp Cams shopping list, I purchased the 12200 gear that'll replace the stock gears at the base. Then with the distributor cap, You guys are suggesting a MSD set-up. Now as you guys know, the coil isn't external like the 350, the coil is integrated in the cap. What your recommendations for this conversion or is it dirt simple. Order the MSD cap with a integrated coil (if it all possible) do I have to change the guts out like one of the other guys said...
Thanks for your time.

Re: best distributor
with her coil in cap you should have 4 screws holding on the cap unlike non cc that have 4 arms that swing to retain the cap.

Re: best distributor
You can always convert to the divorced coil distributor from an 87-92 car. It's a really basic cut/splice the old distributor harness to the new one. Much easier to find, more options for service parts, etc.
