I had a friend check it with his scanner and it said mass air flow sensor and connector, but also Ive noticed that when I turn on my head light and fog light the engine wants to turn off and it idles crazy. Could it be a bad alternator? Thanks

Re: 89 camaro problem

You can certainly have the alternator tested most auto parts stores will do this for free.
You might want to retrieve the codes and follow the flow chart for Maf diagnostic.
33, 34 and 36

Chevy thunder also has flow charts for these codes

Re: 89 camaro problem

Btw you can easily check your own codes with a paper clip.
