Bbk throttle body
I need some help! I recently bought a brand new bbk (1537) throttle body from my coworkers buddy ($150). I installed it on my 92 z28 5.7 engine and it idles fine, but at WOT the car shuts off. Any ideas why?

Re: Bbk throttle body
I'm using the tps and iac valve from the original throttle body. I read the boltage on the tps before intalling on to the new throttle body.(.93 volts close throttle/4.5 volts at open throttle) It reads the same with the new throtten body.

Re: Bbk throttle body
If the tps is adjustable lower it down to .67-.76vdc.
It might be that you have another issue like fuel delivery.
if the minimum idle speed ness to be adjusted down the tps voltage will follow. Iirc set the minimum speed to 650 rpm.
stock injectors not keeping up or weak pump. You can monitor fuel pressure with a gauge strapped to your windshield and do a wot pull.

there's a loud vacuum noise from this hole circled in orange. Is that normal?

No, the tps is non adjustable. I can barely move it to .86 volts close throttle. Should I buy an adjustable one

When the car dies, you don't get any codes?
Nothing about the throttle body should cause the car to die.
The absolute only thing I can think of, and I have never seen this before, is you have a leak around the throttle body gasket. It is running really lean, this is causing it to knock, the computer is pulling so much timing it can't keep running. Or you are so lean the computer can't get enough fuel there... I am not even sure either of these could happen but it's the only thing I can think of related to the throttle body.
Have you scanned for codes. More likely is you are losing spark due to a faulty ICM or you don't have enough fuel due to a weak fuel pump or a restriction of flow.
Do you have a scanner that can look at the BLM's. Would be curious where those are. Also, monitor fuel pressure as said above. You may see it start dropping above 2500RPM under load.

Re: Bbk throttle body
Out of curiosity, when you installed the BBK throttle body, did you have any issues with the throttle cable catching the swivel arm? I installed a BBK on my 87 TA yesterday, and can't seem to route the cable without it catching the arm and causing the car to not idle down once throttled up.
