I had my 88 gta running yesterday perfectly. Today I went out to try to start it and my car cranked but didn't start
obv it was fuel pump.

I have a new ebay fuel pump relay harness 2 years ago and a napa new fuel pump relay last summer.

after 1 hour hour of pissing around killing my battery

I blew a 20amp fuse....

I put on my old stock relay and the car runs perfectly again !!!
I know in my heart something may be worse going on

so basically I just want some advice....

do you think yesterday when I shut the car off somehow the fuel pump relay shorted out and made the fuse blow.
or do you think its a fuel pump that's bad or internally shorting out , it was done by dealer 20 years ago

or do you think its bad wiring or just that crappy *** defective napa relay????I already had to change it once last summer defective under warrenty.

let me know opioions.....

Re: Need Help
Like this acdelco 15-8240 relayhttps://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ing+relay,3380

or
gm 14078915 with is nla
you can convert to the new style, tpiparts.net or efi connection has the parts.

pigtail or you can use the crimp connectors and terminals.

you would think the ops would of taken over to power the pump. Unless the ops is bad. You had quite a amp draw to blow the 20amp fuse. Bad relay or fuel pump draw.
