Did you have to push the drive pin in on the cam snout for clearance? Mine carved the heck out of the back of my timing cover. I was under the impression that these cams require a pin change to work in LT-1's and that they are for L98's as shipped. I called LPE but all they said was "it's not our fault".

I've no personal experience with them, but did hear you needed to grind off some amount...1/4inch I think? I don't recall.

I didn't get anything with the cam that stated that and I bought it new. As far as I know you need to buy a pin kit to make them compatable with the LT-1's water pump. That's why i'm curious about why the cam (which is made for L98's) carved a groove into my timing cover.

I know you need to push the pin in on the LT4 Hot cam but i've never heard of it on the LPE cams.

I put a 219/219 cam in BuckeyeROC's car with the stock timing chain cover, it was fine. Did you buy an aftermarket cover? Some of those have additional material around the cam sprocket for a cam button.

I know the Hot cam must have it's pin pressed in, I think I recall something like .030''. I don't know how much pin will be exposed though ... for more information check with www.sdpc2000.com.

"Note : The LT4 camshaft P/N 24502586 was designed to be used in a number of different engines. Therefore, the following change may need to be made to allow for correct assembly of the engine: For LT1 and L98 engines 1995 and before, the dowel pin in the end of the camshaft must be pushed in so extension from end of cam is .30 +/- .01" , the same as the production part. For 1996 LT1 and LT4 engines, the dowel pin is in the correct position, extending .620" from end of camshaft. This camshaft has a fuel pump lobe."

This information I give to despite you having referred to me as "a troll."

Lol, like everyone else I have good days and bad days. Thank you for the assistance. You seem to be one of the more well informed people here but like I said, you occasionally mix unnecessary remarks in with your helpful information. I used the stock timing cover. I am beginning to wonder if it was a manufacturing flaw. It didn't just mark the timing cover, it cut a groove into it. I have shavings everywhere. Either I am having bad luck with the Accel line or the stuff is really garbage. My SuperRam looks like it was made of melted soda cans, my 58mm throttle body broke, and my 300+ sounds like it's going to explode.

I apologise for calling you a troll
