Remove the riveted axle from Throttle Body
Hi guys, I just started to do a rebuild of an old TPI for my Firebird,
The axle of the TB was siezed, I eventually got it to be smooth with a lot of WD40 and some hammering (on the riveted pin don't worry)
So, this axle is a bit rusted, and I would love to remove it so I could clean it and maybe paint it.
My question is :
Can I use a file (or grinder) to remove the hammered side of the pin (not the side with the spring) and then tap and put a screw? Won't it be a great idea?

I'm pretty sure that's what most people do when rebuilding a tpi throttle body. That's how one of mine is. I think this may help you too, though they ground the side with the linkage and spring.
