Have a 91 SD TPI. Just installed SLP runners, ported and siamesed plenum with 52mm BBK tb and Hollley AFPR. Have to do some datalogging, but looking for recommendations for cam and Convertor. 3.42 LSD 7.5 rearend. Looking to stay in the lower range rpm wise. Mostly spirited street driving and hopefully some autocross this year. Any suggestions?
comp 212/218 or 218/224 would work. Beehive spring kit 1.5 rocker keep lift down to clear valve stem guides. But you’ll have to measure to besure. Might want to have heads machined for screw in studs and lower profile seals.
Yeah 2500 rpm stall would be perfect for a mildly modified street car. Itll feel and drive like stock but gives a big boost in acceleration when you step on it.
I'd also probably go with the 212 cam... itll be better matched to your engine.
I'm running a 212 cam with my Miniram and itll still pull hard to 5500 rpm, so it should be just fine for a long runner TPI that will probably top out at 4800...
In the end you'll have a very potent street car that can be driven around comfortably every day.
