Best Spark Plugs and Wires For Headers?
I have the standard copper Delcos on the car currently. They are 5 years old and probably have 30K on them. My car has slight hesitation and the idle is a little off (timing is fine but TPS is out of adjustment). I figured it can't hurt to replace plugs as well. The last time I did plugs my car didn't have headers. Now it does.
Are the copper Accel shorties the best? What about Taylor 90 degree wires? (that's what's on the car currently). Any tips for changing plugs with headers?

Denso makes the Accel plugs. For a LOT less money you can simply buy them from the manufacturer.
They make plenty of different header spark plug sockets. Take a look at Summit and pick one.
Taylor wires are nice. US made.

When I brought my car 7 years ago it came with Taylors, so I've just stuck with them. I'll see if I can find the Densos.

Re: Best Spark Plugs and Wires For Headers?
Does anyone know if Autolite still makes shorty street car plugs? I've been reading all threads on here, on the Corvette forum and a few other sites. A lot of people have trouble with the Accel/Denso shorty plugs. There's a few old threads on here where people recommend an Autolite shorty plug. The only Autolite shorty I can find is a non-resistor racing spark plug (Autolite AR13). Do people use this in a street car? Is it ok for a 200 horsepower 305? Will it effect the ECM or my CD player?

Re: Best Spark Plugs and Wires For Headers?
I have Denso's in my car right now with Dyno Don headers. And had a set in the last engine as well. Haven't had a problem with them. I currently make 325 HP at the rear wheels.
I wouldn't run non-resistor plugs on a fuel injected computer car. Just isn't a compelling reason to do so. In my experience they probably won't cause an issue but there's no point in risking it.

Try rockauto.com's catalog. I'm running Vortec heads so my plugs are the long thread version.

Re: Best Spark Plugs and Wires For Headers?
By application, the standard length Denso plug is a 5035 (T20PR-U); the Accel 0574/0574S crosses over to the Denso 5035.
Even though Denso makes Accel short plugs, it appears that Denso doesn't market the short plugs under their own name.

I ended up going with the NGK UR4s. Almost every car guy/tech I know in real life talked me out of the Accels. The NGKs may not be as short as the Accels but they are shorter than the R45TS'.

Spark plugs I have no idea. Plug wires I have had good luck using access ceramic boot plugs. Price but they flat out work close to header tubes.
