aftermarket manifold with as&m runners on 305
Hey,
I havent been able to find too much info in this and I wanted some opinions.
I have some AS&M runners and possibly aftermarket bottom that I was thinking about putting on my 305. I have ported 416 heads, MSD ignition, hedman shorty headers (3' rest of the way), 1.5 rockers with crane compucam (dont remember the numbers) and ported plenum and at the moment a ported stock base.
Will the combination of larger tube runners and TPIS/edelbrock maniflod help or hurt my performance? I know this is all hypothetical and cant be answered 100% but i am hoping someone has done it or just knows better than I.
Thanks!

Ask @vinny R I believe he got a good performance boost after he ported his intake base and installed ‘tis/as&m Runners as well as a tune.

Thanks! I think I found the thread you are referring to. Looks like Kenbob did some base porting for him and some other members too. Looks like some impressive gains. Had vortec heads though.

A larger bored TB will help as well, it certainly did for me. After getting mine back from TPiS, I had a noticeable crisp-ness after refining my tune to account.

I did get a big gain from the plenum, runners and base porting. I have stock TPI heads stock cam and L69 manifolds, Magna flow y-pipe and 3" full exhaust. I did some research before I did this and the jury is out on whether the aftermarket base is really better than a fully ported stock base. I did the port work myself and saved the $ spent on a base. If everything you have listed you are using with stock runners, the AS&M ones will make a huge difference alone. The bigger TB should help you also with the cam and head combo. You will definitely need a tune when done. That refined all the gains I got and am really happy with the outcome. Tuned Performance did my tune and he is great to work with. Below is the link to my thread where I did the porting work. Don't forget Injectors, with all these performance parts you are going to use your originals probably will hurt you.

Thanks Vinny R! Yeah have been thinking about the injectors. I have Bosch 3 19lb injectors running at 50psi so im getting 20 lbs roughly might take them to 55psi for 21lbs. I was thinking about getting 22lb ones from south bay someday and runnig them at 50psi. I am a amateur programer (bought my programer and proms from Tuned performance!) Im not sure how to tune for more air though...
