New injectors..........high idle?

I put new Accel 24 lb injectors in my 406 over the weekend, man what a difference over the set of 19's that were in there............yes, I said 19's.............they were supposed to be 24's but someone screwed up.............my engine builder that I have/had the utmost respect for prior to the past few weeks. Anyway, long story, it ran great before but now it ROCKS.........BLM's are around 128 all the time, as are the integrator numbers...........man it feels good.

One issue - idle is way up, like about 1500 rpm.............do I need to reset my IAC? Or is it that I haven't driven it enough since the battery was disconnected for a day and it needs to 'learn'?

Also, to confirm on the 'IAC adjustment' process, I assume (but hate assuming) when they say set idle to 450 rpm, they mean in park..........right? Then the ECM takes over and sets the normal/correct rpm............right?

One more thing.............is it absolutely necessary to cross the A and B terminal on the ALDL when doing this adjustment? Why or why not?

Thanks!

Not sure about that....................

Why if that was the case would it run perfectly with BLM and Integrator numbers dead nuts on 128?

Help me out here..............

Weird i guess there was spotty snow in salem, and it was sunny here and just turned all white in a flash... yay for oregon.

Anywho, seems to be a vacuum leak, you can always try the IAC, but no its not because your ecm hasn't "learned" yet. Try spraying a bottle of water around all your injector o-ring area and see if the engine stumbles at all, if it does thats your vacuum leak.

That makes the most sense, check your plenum and everything really good and make sure all the vacuum lines are hooked up as well. Good luck

Oh yea and not to avoid your IAC question.

You do need to jump the pins because that puts it into diagnostic mode. You set it at 450 in park, for MINIMUM idle, as soon as your iac is hooked up the idle will go up a bit because now its making its own adjustments.

It was of all things the cruise control slotted rod thingie..............bad description I know but you get the picture........it was cocked and binding the throttle not allowing it to return. Fixed it, drove it, idles perfectly.

Thanks for all the advice.

Where in this great state are you? At the coast?
