Reman 5235302 Fuel Injector Rebuild Question

How to replace plastic spacer?

I have a 1988 5.7 TPI Camaro that I would like to reinstall the original injectors. I bought a fuel injector repair kit.But can figure out how to remove or install new plastic spacer.

Are the plastic spacers in good condition? They are basically there to hold the oring in place. If they are in good condition just leave them otherwise you're going to have to pull off that metal piece on the bottom. You should be able to get an oring into the groove without removing anything

Hi, and thanks for the reply. One of the injectors, spacers was cracked and fell apart when removing the o ring. Now I have to install a new spacer but found out that the spacer won't go over the pintle.

the other thing you can do is take a box cutter and split the ring at an angle. If they are new they should have plenty of flexibility so you should be able to get in onto the injector without a problem. . Getting that pintle cap off will be a real nightmare
let us know if you have any other questions
