Hello All, I am a newbie to the board and i am looking for some thoughts. I have a 91 Z-28. I have finally finished with my suspension, and am about to break the engine open and get knee deep. I am trying to build this engine to accomodate for the ATI D1sc. So far I was looking at LT4 Hot-Cam, AFR 190 Heads 1.6 rr's,Super Ram base, runners and plenium. I am not sure on which pistons,crank, ect.... to go with. The car has a TH700 for now but Pops has a T56 in the Garage for me.
Any input (do's and dont's) would be nice.

I'd get a frorged crank,rods and pistons for sure. how much do you wanna spend? 5140 rods and crank will run you about $750 and 4340 will run ya bout $1400 the 4340 will be really nice but costs alot more. :-) also get some good ARP rod bolts, and have the rotating assembly balanced. other than that, get name brand stuff and you sould be fine with everything else.

 

Where is a good place to get those parts(Jegs/Summit) Should I stay Steel or Alum????? I was looking in some of my mags and couldnt find anything. The price isnt really a problem, I just dedicated 4 more years of my life to Uncle Sam and the U.S. Army, (They paid me)......

 

What about the Hotcam, Is it a good cam to go with the Procharger?
