Only difference I see is that its about DOUBLE THE SIZE of a regular TPI! ***, every time I see that engine... well I wont go into it, but that engine is G0D!!! :hail:
Is it a form of TPI...yes. Very cool actually. One set of runners for low end torque (kinda like what we have) and an ADDITIONAL set of runners that are much shorter and are much better at supporting higher RPM's. There is some sort of control mechanism that actuates which set is being used based on RPM level I believe. Very cool concept for its day.

There are two runners to each cylinder, one for each intake valve. They are the same length but on of them has a computer controlled valve. If the key in the dash is set to full power, and the engine is at operating temp, no error codes are set and so on ... the valves will open at 3500 RPM ( I think that it was that RPM ).
The second intake valve also has a wilder cam profile.
With the valves closed power is limited to the 200 hp range.

I've seen a highly modded ZR1 with siamesed intake runners. Very cool.

If I win the lotto, that is what I am going to drop into my Trans Am.
That is the sweetest looking motor.

I saw a custom LT5 in some sort of hotrod, I don't remember the car becasue I was so facinated with the engine, at the woosward dream cruise last year. The dude had about 4 inches of a spacer between the top and bottom half of the intake. I am sure this enhanced his low end a little more, but the really sick part was this is were he had his direct port nitrous plumbed to. The whole set-up was chromed and totally covered in drool from all the amazed gaukers. If you have never been to the woodward cruse I highly recomned it. It is towards the end of the summer, in detroit, and it is the largest free spectator event held in this country; last year I think they estimated 1.5 million people attended.

If you want one, your screwed. They've built 3 and the 4th is reserved for Mr. Lingenfelter's own '95 ZR-1. The horsepower numbers quoted in that article are with the boost turned down .

Hes only runnin 11 flats??? Now, Im saying "only 11's" cause hes got almost 800 horses under that hood... what gives? He should easily be in the 10's, maybe lower, unless traction is his problem.

I know of someone that has number 3 out of the 4 and he's sent it back for some more mods and to get some lighter body pannels. Neither he or John Lingenfelter will disclose prices of this car.
