I have an 86 tpi trans am with a 305 (lb9). I just put a maf on it tune up replaced the ignition module and the timing is perfect. But for some reason when i stop a to turn or at a stop sign the damn thing cuts off when i'm slowing down. Once the tack gets to about 1000 rpm's it just dies. Not always though. And i'm getting a code reading the vehicle speed control sensor. ANy ideas.

 

Sounds like a bad MAF.

 

I just put a new one on it which helped it alot. But it still does it occasionaly

 

Hook up a scanner to it and record until you get the problem to occur and then review the data and see what the problem is.
