So i'm told that the cam in the stock 87 z-28 camaro was a piece of sh**, what would be a good cam to put in when everything else is still stock? Thanks

It is best to call Comp Cams and get them to help you select the best camshaft for your car. I did and I was glad I did, I had already picked out the cams I thought would be best after looking at about 100 and testing them on desktop dyno. Then I called Crane and tried theirs, they recommended the one I had chosen from their line. Then I called Comp Cams, they recommended a totally different cam than the one I had chosen. It actually looked to be a milder cam than the one I had selected. But I got the numbers and plugged it into desktop dyno and guess what. It showed an increase of 45 HP and no loss in torque, I was impressed so much so I bought the cam. 1-800-999-0853 is the number for cam help.
