engine build up

im considering options for building an engine this summer. i have 140k on my ROC and figure starting an engine build wouldn't hurt anything. im thinking of a 350 or 383 following along the lines of the fast burn 385 crate and adding a hot cam shooting for 400-450 hp. is it possible to still us TPI with this setup and if so what would i have to do with it to help it adapt, or is it all a lost cause and just go with carbed? this is all just planning but im trying to get everything layed out. thanks

Well at least it sound like you Kinda know what your talking about...

What do you want to Do with the Car ? Daily Driver, weekend warrior, Strait up 1/4 mile beast ?

Fastburn 385 w/ LT4 HOT cam would scream.

But Not with a stock LTr ontop of it.

Your best bet Would be to either convert the LT1, Get a miniram, Or looks like everyone's new favorite, The HOlley Stealth Ram.

Personally, I think the Stealthram is the way To Go, Its comparable in price to upgrading your LTR, and should blow it away On the Dyno.

Decide what you want the car to Do, Get back to us, and we will tell you how to Do it.

And If someone starts talking about the merit's of 305's on this post Bullets are going to fly.

Some of the guys on the Corvette Forum use the Super-Ram on their build 355s & 383s with good success. There's also the mini-ram to consider.

I think you can keep the benefits of EFI and have a fast car with good street manners.

Long as you use a good intake manifold, and well programmed prom fuel injection will make as much power as a carb, and more low end torque, get better gas milage, and make lower emissions, so it's definitly worth it. I would reccomend and aftermarket intake or the lt1 intake conversion. Hopefully by the time you get to building this beast we'll have some more #'s on stealth ram.

Basically, except the addition of a base, runners, TB, injectors, etc...

Thanks for the replies. I still haven't decided what i'm going to do but I plan to stay with fuel injection for sure. My car is a daily driver and a "weekend warrior". but i still like the occasional drag so what ideas do you have for me?
