Tranny jumps when starting.

I recently bought the wife an 87 Z28 with the LB9 and A4. When trying to start the car, it will jump forward. It's in park, but it seems like it's engaged in drive, kinda like a manual if you don't push the clutch in. Could it be that the linkage is just out of adjustment?

Could be the linkage, could also be the forward clutch piston sticking.

Blah. I'm starting to see why this car was only $400. I just put in a new battery, it still needs a fuel pump. Now it may need tranny work. Well, at least one buddy owns a rrepair shop and another rebuilds trannies. A third drives a wrecker, so I've kinda got it covered.

After I rebuilt mine, it does the same thing. It only does it on a cold start. When it's warm it doesn't. Not sure if it's just tight parts or the sticking. Just drive it. Just adds to the excitement of driving the car when you start the car through the window and it lurches forward unexpectedly. POOP! ->Go and change shorts.
