havin trouble with the th-400 swap

i am puttin a th-400 trans in and i have the crossmember and kit setup but what about the tail shaft and the drive shaft do i need a custom driveshaft and what tail shaft will work like one out of a junkyard or somethin thanx

Axle/Gears: Ford 9"/31 spline spool/4.86
You need a TH400 slip yoke. The tailshaft is a larger diameter and only a slip yoke from a TH400 will fit. Chances are you're going to need a new driveshaft also. Once you have the slip yoke, slide it into the tranny all the way and pull it out 1". Measure from the center of the u-joint on the yoke to the center of the u-joint on the diff. That's the length of the driveshaft you need.
