T-56 clutch fork problems
I would appreciate any help on this one.
Well I took out the slave tonight and I found that the clutch fork was jammed into the bottom of tranny. So I pryed it out and hooked it back on the throwout bearing and then I went to put the slave back in and I noticed that the fork would slip down a little. And this little bit is too far down it is causing it to to hit the tranny housing.
I have three questions. Could the throwout bearing be defective? Its a brand new, never used STAR stage 3 clutch. What could be wrong with the clutch fork that would not allow it to stay up? Does the tranny have to be taken out to change the fork?

Did you unbolt the tranny and pull the fork out or did you just "pry" the fork out?
You might have messed up the bearing or the stud on which the fork pivots. I know it's not what you wanna hear man, but I'd pull the tranny down and have a look. I got my fork stuck just like you did, but I got careful and just pulled the tranny backdown a bit to free the fork.
Enjoy.

Well it seems to be staying on the throwout bearing ok now. But the arm that comes off the Master cylinder I must have bent it when I pushed it down. SO I was pumping it up and down and it broke so now I have to get a new one to test it out.
Ouch man...
You're gonna have to buy the hydraulic setup all over again if I'm not mistaken. Damn, that rod is a thick bastard, musta been bent pretty good to snap that badboy. I'm sure ya know already, but just in case you didn't.....go to the parts counter at your GM dealer and tell em you need a clutch master cylinder for a 95 Camaro with a 6 speed and they'll hook ya up for about $150. There's two different part numbers for em, but either will work.
Have fun,
Kelly

the pivot on the tranny has a bolt that must be tightened down good. the fork has a small bracket that has 2 long rods that slide over the pivot and maybe one of them is broken off they are real small fragile peices. i broke one on mine. take a flashlight and peek up in there to see if the bolt is tight. use a wrench to check it. then look at your fork and make sure the pieces ar there. slide the fork back ontot he pivot and make sure both of those pieces slide OVER the4 pivot and not under. make sure the fork goes on the throwout bearing at the same time. i had this problem with mine and the fork got jammed into the bottom of the bellhousing from pushing the slucth in. i pryed it out carefully and reattched it. if it falls again like mine did it will rub on the pressure plate when you push the clutch in and not allow the engine to rotate and the engine will bog down from the pressure. hope this helps

well I found the culprit. Its in the form of my dumb@ss friend. I told him to make sure the throwout bearing was in the right position. Well it wasn't and the two little prongs you guys were talking about weren't seating properly. Well tahts fixed I just to get another slave. Ah what the hell it will be my third!
