rebuild my 700R4 or get a T56????
I have a question. I have installed my 406 into my Z but the motor is putting out ALOT of torque and its obvious that my 12 yr old 86,000 mi tranny is not gonna hold up
. My question is, should I rebuild the tranny I have now, or go with a T56?? Id love to bang through the gears with this torque monster, but will the T56 hold up? I have been told a corvette servo in my tranny would help? Is it hard to install this, and where might I find one? If anyone has installed a 6spd in an auto car, please let me know what all I would need, if possible. Thanks in advance.....

changing from auto to manual is all up to you and how you drive your car. id say go for it. theres nothing better then shifting through 6 gears and having all that hp at your fingertips. i think the t56 wil hold up as long as you dont abuse the **** out of it. i would look into a good clutch though. going from auto to maunaul is an easy swap

The T-56 will hold up. The Vipers and Z06's are using basically stock T-56's without problem. Someone more knowlegable than I, one told me that these trannys will hold 600 hp. Plus, think about the one, two shift... WEEE!
