LS1 driveshaft????

are they a direct bolt in to my 700-r4 and is it worth it to me to upgrade or change?

i'm running roughly around 300 with the ocasional 100 shot.

also, what should i expect to pay for a used one?

As I understand it, YES they swap right in. Look at this rebuild in progress:

As stated on his site, he got it from Dal and it was $245 new. I've seen used ones go for anywhere from $125-225 usually. That thing is massive!!

Check www.camaroz28.com too for used ones.

Car: 1982 Z28
Engine: LS1
Transmission: T56
Advantages: it's light, well balanced, and designed for a lot more hp and torque than your average 3rd gen makes.

Disadvantages: it's so big in diameter getting to the rear u-joint strap bolts is a pain. Can't get a socket on, have to use a wrench. May not be as strong as the smaller-diameter 4th gen 1LE aluminum driveshaft, no conclusive data tho.

1LE shaft is smaller diameter than the LS1 piece.

Both are 4th gen pieces. The 1LE part is for LT1 cars, the LS1 is for...well, you get it.
