speedometer help

I am putting a 700R4 that I had built for my 86 iroc into my 91. My problem is I don't know what I will have to do to get my speedometer to work since the 91 has an electric speedometer and my 86 has a mechanical speedometer. Do I just need to get the sender thing from my 91's transmission or do I need to get a different tail shaft or what? Someone told me that the sender from the newer transmissions won't fit in the old transmissions. I am a dumbass and sold my transmission out of my 91 without thinking about this first. Oh yeah, my 91 had a T5. I don't know if that matters at all.

I wish someone could help me out. Doesn't seem to be a popular topic.

You need to get a sensor for a TH700. Your T5 stuff won't work.

Will a new sender thing that is for an electric speedometer fit and work with my 700r4 that was used with a mechanical speedometer?
