after 305 to350 swap trans prob.

i cant get the linkage to line back up i need like 2 inches more cable when i put the trans in park and the shifter in park it wont work.

Are you using the same transmission?, the cable can be adjusted on the transmission, but in your case it shouldn't need 2 more inches. Maybe your cable is caught on something?

yeah it's the same trans same cable and it's freed up

no still cant get it. i dont know what's up with it that is the only prob. stoping me for a test drive from the 305 to 350 swap useing the same heads and tbi. and the 2 inch is more like 8th of a inch sorry

Sounds like you need to adjust the nut on the housing little bit. Not sure why it would have changed with just an engine swap, but you don't need a new cable.

what nut do it adjust? the one the the cable hook's to is sloted any go's one way

i had the same problem when i went from a 305 to a 350 and i changed my shift cable. its going to sound stupid but check and see which way you installed the cable and bolt. if the bolt is facing out ward it makes it just a little to short for it to click into park just flip it over on the shifter on the transmission and this should give you that little extra.
