84 700R4 Question
Did 1984 Z28 Camaro 700 R4 come with a lockup or non lock up converter. Im in the market for a good Stall Torque Converter and want to make sure that I get the right one. I have taken the Electronic Computer Carburetor and Distributor out of my car, however did leave the electronic computer module installed. So will I still be able to use a lockup from the computer without hooking up a lockup switch or because I change Carb and Distributor I will need a lockup switch.

Well, my 1984 Z28 has a lockup T/C. I got tired of that thing locking and unlocking so I bought a kit from Art Carr Transmissions and converted it to a non-lockup T/C. Man is ever nice to drive.

Without the input from the carb/distributor, the ECM will not command the lockup of the TCC. Either rig up a manual switch, or get a kit from Summit/Jegs that will do it similar to the way the ECM did.
I believe the '84 is a 27-spline input, so get a TC for that (same as TH200R4).
