What size gears do I have???

I have a set of 3.08's from an 85 or 86 formula and I need to know what size the ring gear is. Do any of you know. I need to replace the gears because I have ruined them but I don't know what size carrier I have.

Any help would be great.

How many bolts are on the cover? If it is 10, it is 7.5". If it is 9 it is a 7.75 borg warner rear. The borg warner is a lot stronger, but parts are quite a bit more expensive also.

it is a 10 bolt. Are you sure that the gear can't be an 8.25 or 8.5.

Did they all come with a 7.5??

The donor car was auto 4 speed with an injected 305. It is posi too.

there is an auction ending in less than an hour. It is for an 8.5" 3.73 set, never been used. Will it work for me??

I need to know what size the carrier or the gears that I have are.

The formula that the gears came from had rear drums, so it shouldn't have had the borg warner rear end right?

please respond with anything... time is ticking..

But there is no way to have a borg in a 10 bolt pumpkin, is there?

The guys that installed the posi from the formula into my t/a might have kept my original pumpkin in there.

Yes, they came stock from 85 89 and maybe some in 90. They have 28 spline axles.
