transgo kit question
i just got my transgo kit installed. the first time the shop installed it, it was horrible, within minuts my car was pouring out tranny fluid from the pan and smoke started coming from the tranny. well, i took it back and fixed that but my problem is that the shift kit is now shifting extremely soft and 1000 rpms earlier. my tranny was running strong and shifting hard, especially for stock, before the kit, now i want the kit out and go back to stock. so was it the kits fault that shifting is terrible or is it the mechanics and is there a kinda break in period with these kits? thanks for any replies

i really have no idea, i just know before the kit was installed, it was performing perfect, but i just wanted a little harder shift in 1-2 and harder 2-3 shifts. how would i go about checking the cable?
this is TRANSFIXLEO's instructions, so give the props to him :hail:
To adjust the TV Cable skip the book method and do this: Press the 'D' shaped lock button on the adjuster and loosen the cable setting (The black housing that the metal cable is in will move forward). Now, have someone floor the gas pedal while you check to see if the throttle plate is open all the way. Usually they are off a little and will wiggle. Do whatever you have to do to get it open solid. Now, with the pedal still floored, press the 'D' button and pull the cable casing (the black tube) back as hard as you can (putting maximum tension on the metal cable) and release the button. You now have the engine, tranny and gas pedal all in sync at WOT. Mark the cable casing so if for some reason it gets moved you can know where to put it again. The problem with the 'self adjust method' is that it bends things and puts them permanently out of whack. It is also the full TV setting, which is theoretically what the GM method does.

you know where your throttle linkage is?? its by there, find the black cable that has a metal wire in it, kind of looks like a brake cable for a bike. follow that back to the bracket thats holding it in, and your button will be around there.

thanks a bunch, mine is tbi actually but that it gives me a general idea where it is. now all i gotta do is adjust that and hopefully that will fix some of the problem. again thanks for the pic.
make sure your tranny is working perfectly after the tv cable...if that doesnt fix it,, or it "kinda" fixes it,, take it to a tranny shop ASAP, try not to drive it. i drove my car with a messed up tv cable, and it burnt up my transmission, costing me 1,700 bucks to fix!...call around and talk to other tranny places, or you can even call some speed shops and ask where they would recommend for you to go.

i adjusted the tv cable and it was a little loose, but that didnt help my problem at all. im also having trouble getting into reverse now, it takes a few seconds to click into reverse and when i give it gas, it sounds like it is in neutral, and when i drove it to see if adjusting the cable helped, it wouldnt let me shift into 3rd at WOT. from a few people i have talked to, it sounds like the tranny is totally shot now. so in the end i ended up paying $190 total for a shop to blow a perfectly good transmission, and they wouldnt even pay the $40 it cost to tow my car back to the shop even though i havent even driven it a mile and it started pouring out fluid and smoking. if you guys have any suggestions as what my next step should be, please reply and ill see what will happen.
ok, if i were you id post a new thread on waht to do, this isnt getting much attention at all at the moment,, seeing im the only one to reply and help. also, id take the shop to court! thats bull ****, i blew my tranny and it cost me 1,700 to fix it! but i got a nice lifetime warrenty plus free tune ups. but post another thread and lable it something catchy. good luck!
