Can't push pedal far enogh!!??

My '88 305 Camaro started having problems with it's T-5 trans today. After a long 2 hr. trip it seems to have trouble getting in gear...you have to push the pedal as hard and far as possible or you can't get it in gear!
Checked the fluid in the slave cylinder, it was good. THe pedal bushing is a little sloppy, could be worn, seems it would have to be something other than this, right?
Clutch is about 1 and 1/2 years old. Clutch grabs down at bottom still!
Any ideas?
Thanks

it could have launched a torsion spring out of the clutch disk, and lodged it between the disk and pressure plate, thus not allowing the clutcl to disengage, it could be the bushing you mentioned(although i'm not real sure what you meant), low fluid, leaky master or slave cylinder,

basically about a dozen different things, your gonna have to do some more inspecting, and maybe disassembly

I'll tell ya what it is: Heat. When clutches get hot, such as from long trips or from slipping, they expand, thus needing more disengagement from the throwoutbearing / clutchfork / linkage. You have a pedal adjustment right under the pedal I think, start there. make sure you have a little play in the pedal however, no play = bad. a warped clutch can also do this, but its warped cuz of the heat anyways... how many miles on it?

I had the same problem with mine, it would grind gears when it got hot, I would have to shift without clutching and jam it in reverse all the time. I fixed the problem originally by putting washers under the pressure plate to space it further away, but it cause a little too much holding pressure to go away, so i ditched the whole enchalada and put a Th350 in there.
