Auto-T5 Cost/Parts ???
Well, I am on a very limited budget since I am only 17 years of age.
I really am starting to dislike this automatic in my 82 Z-28 (CFI-Damn computers). This last week, it has been ok, but It's just not as fun anymore.
The first question I am going to ask, is how much it cost some of you guys to convert, and how much did you get for your existing automatic transmission.
Please do not include labor cost (unless It's something the average man does not have in his garage).
Also, what was the hardest part about it, are the driveshafts different lengths or what?
One last thing, about ECM's, will I need to get a new chip? (Eventually I plan on going carb unless I can find some cheap ways to keep the CFI and produce some good #'s)

The current transmission you have isn't worth jack.
It will cost a total of about $500+ to do this swap and a weekend to do everything correct. I cost me about $1000 because I changed a lot of parts that didn't need it because I didn't want to fix them when they went bad in a few months or whenever they went.
The ecm is fine as it is. The only difference between the Auto and manual ecm is the torque converter lockup. That ecm is going to have a fun time trying to lock the TC that isn't there, it may pull a check light or a code. I didn't pay much attention.
The hardest part is getting the massive automatic out of the car. You will wear ATF that is a promise, and it weighs a ton and a half when you're by yourself.
