anyone rebuilt a 700r4???
I was wondering if anyone in here has ever rebuilt their 700r4 before?? I have a friend that has rebuil an old 200 but i was wondering if someone could give me some tips and the difficulty level of such a procedure. Ive heard its not all that hard but rather time consuming. Thought I better get some advice before I think about doin it.

i'm running into the same thing myself. gotten a few tips here and there. best thing i can suggest is buy the book jegs sells. its about $25 and goes into extreme depth on this specific tranny. i'm gonna be doing a rebuild and the transgo shift kit. i've put aside a whole week to do the job, hopefully it wont take that long. biggest tip: make sure your environment your workin in is extremely clean. any little dirt in the tranny and you're screwed. also make sure to lay everything out exactly as it came out of the tranny, that way you can put everything back in. what rebuild kit did you buy? i picked up the heavy duty tci one from jegs for about $150
Well i hav'nt bought a rebuild kit yet, still debating wether i want to attempt it or not . I bought a maual today and it really dosent look too awfully hard to do, like you said, clean area and plety of time. thanks for the info. what would be a good kit to buy for the price?? anyone??
