I had the tranny in my 89 Formula rebuilt about a year ago. I paid extra for heavy duty parts, shift kit, and 2400 stall. I was thrilled with how it drove at first. Very firm 1-2 shifts that would chirp with more than 1/4 throttle. 2-3 wasn't hard, but crisp and fast. Now lately, the 2-3 shift flares really bad. It seems as if the trans hits neutral momentarily before drive engages. When its cold, part throttle is fine. When hot, the 2-3 shift causes about 300-500 RPM jumps during the shift. When hot at full throttle, the car revs an extra 1300 RPMs during the 2-3 shift. The fluid looks perfect and doesn't smell burnt. I just had the car back in the shop last week since its still under warranty. He said they couldn't see anything wrong, but replaced the band and 3-4 clutch pack. It didn't help. What could this be? I'm still under warranty for another week, so I have to get this straightened out quick!
