down shift 700r4 problem

I recently purchased a stage 3 700r4 for my 92Z. The old tranny used to shift into second on the freeway just below 59mph. Now, the new tranny will not down shift into 2nd unless i'm under 50mph? When i used to stomp on it on the freeway, it would be at the top of the rpm's but it would give me the needed power. Now, the new tranny does not down shift unless i'm going a lot slower. It does not give me the power i need unless i shift manually. I adjusted the Detent cable as specified and also used transflexio's method. No change? Any Ideas ???

Sounds like the governor of the new transmission doesn't match your rear end gears. You can get a kit to tune the governor, or if you still have it you could try swapping the old governor into the new transmission.
