pre 1990 are 26 spline. 1990 and newer are 28 spline.
That's assuming you're talking about a third gen with a 10 bolt.
Both are weak but the 28 spline is a bit better. Aftermarket 28 spline are the best.

my bad i didnt clarify what i meant......yea the stock axles for a 91 gta...i counted the diff cover bolts a few months back and i dont remember what it was...i know it was atleast 9
